Growing our Wellington Presence

Rationale is growing!

We have long had a presence in the capital, based out of our central Wellington offices on Woodward Street.

Recently, we have taken a more focussed approach to our work with Central Government and we’re building our capability in Wellington. A key step in this process has been welcoming Mark Frew on board as Rationale’s Wellington General Manager.

 

Mark joins Rationale after 15 years working in the Central Government space, most recently having spent five years at Te Manatu Whakahiato Ora - Ministry of Social Development (MSD).

During his time at MSD, Mark managed the development and delivery of the organisation's strategy Te Pae Tawhiti, including the establishment of Te Pae Tawhiti Transformation Programme. He also:

  • Led the first and successful agency baseline review between MSD and The Treasury.
  • Delivered Cabinet approved Strategic Assessment and Programme Business Case for Te Pae Tawhiti.
  • Managed large scale, successful Budget investment including multiple COVID funding packages.
  • Implemented new performance measurement, reporting and governance processes and systems.

Mark will be working closely with Managing Director, Edward Guy in our Wellington office and will be closely supported by the rest of the Rationale team based in Arrowtown and Dunedin.

Marks appointment comes at a time of increasing complexity and uncertainty across both central and local government, and he’s looking forward to getting stuck in.
